For participation on the German gas market, all market partners need to identify themselves via a special code.

This could be an already existing ILN (Internation Location Number) or  for first-time registration a ‘DVGW Code’.

DVGW Service & Consult GmbH is the authorized Local Issuing Office for the German Gas Market and can directly provide you an ‘DVGW Code’.

Please notice: Your maybe existing EDIG@S Code is not valid for “Change of Supplier” process (GeLi Gas), but valid for transport and balancing business. To obtain more information on ILN or Edig@s please check below mentioned web sites:

Code Type

(German: Codenummern-Vergabe)

The following code types are possible:

  • 'DVGW': a new DVGW code will be generated, e.g. '98xxxxxxxxxxx' (a 13-digit code).
  • 'ILN': Please enter your already existing ILN code (a 13-digit code).
  • 'Edig@s': Please enter your already existing Edig@s code*

*)= Edig@s codes consists of max. 35 characters. Mostly an abbreviation of company's name is given e.g. the fictional gas company code 'LGTA' (London Gas Transporters' Association).

Other code formats are not supported!

Procedure

  1. Completion of registry form with all mandatory information
  2. You will receive a confirmation by email
  3. Verification by DVGW Service & Consult
  4. You will receive your code number; Your data set is now published in the market partner database

Download Service

We provide a download service for the whole Market Partner Database in Microsoft Excel and CSV format. The fee for this service is 20,00 €* per month, sold as a one year subscription for 240,00 €**(VAT included).
